We are very excited to have launched the Whole life website. For the past year, the staff involved in the Whole Life programme have been busy producing a range of resources in order to support mental health professionals, carers and individuals with the promotion of recovery, mental health and wellbeing. All these resources have been produced from the the Whole life perspective which is to always put the individuals experience at the centre of everything we do. To ensure that we achieve this, all the resources have been created by, and for professionals, service users and carers.
These resources include 2 Whole life DVD's, the Whole life work book, a Whole life audio CD and Whole life posters. All these resources will soon be available on this website and will provide a full multimedia experience to explore and learn more about the Whole life approach. All the resources will be down loadable and all paper down loadable resources are designed to be photocopied. Alternatively, hard copies of all Whole Life resources can be obtained for free by contacting the Whole life team.
In keeping with the whole life philosophy of putting the individual at the centre of everything we do, there is a forum on this website. This forum is a venue for anyone to discuss and debate key themes relating to a Whole Life approach to mental health, wellbeing and or mental distress. It is a place where you can personally contribute, influence and further this important debate and seek the perspectives of a range of people by posting your own questions, stories, experiences, add video clips, network and advertise events that are happening in your area. To visit the forum and add your comments please click here.
Although most of the website is still under construction, to learn more about the whole life approach you can watch one of the Whole Life DVD’s which features the perspectives of a range of people who use Whole Life principles in their life and in their work. The DVD also explores what is meant by the Whole Life approach and is designed to be useful for those who have had personal experience of mental distress and for those supporting them, either as a carer, health professional or a service provider. The DVD is 23 minutes long and contains the following chapters: Introduction to the whole life approach, Change the thinking, What helps, Change the practice.
